Jewelry Care

Tarnishing happens when metals react with chemicals and substances in the air. It's a natural process that occurs over time, and for some, creates a vintage patina look that they actually prefer.

Metals like stainless steel, high karat gold,

aluminum and titanium are tarnish resistant. Gold filled, vermeil, PVD plating and enamel coated copper are also resistant.  Sterling silver, bare copper, brass and electroplated jewelry are not and therefore require more care.

Tarnishing happens faster in the presence of moisture, chemicals, heat and light. Recommendations revolve around reducing exposure to these things. This means:

Avoid wearing it while showering, swimming, or working out.

Allow perfumes and lotions to dry before putting on your jewelry.

Store your jewelry in a closed box or pouch with anti-tarnish paper. Your order

includes a pouch and anti-tarnish paper.

  Remove your jewelry before bed.

Your orders will also come with a polishing cloth that you can use to gently wipe your jewelry once a month to help prevent buildup. Be especially careful with electroplated jewelry.
